Many newer software programs are capable of exporting directly to PDF. The newest versions of Microsoft Office (2008 for Mac), Apple's Pages (part of iWork '08), and OpenOffice.org's Writer are the most popular word processing applications with built-in PDF exporting capability.

If you do not have access to one of those programs, there are several alternatives:

1) If you have Microsoft Office 2007 for Windows, you can download a free plug-in to add PDF exporting to Word.

2) If you would prefer not to install the plug-in or do not have a compatible version of Microsoft Office, you can use any of the following websites to convert your document to a PDF:
